The Abbey Community, Caboolture
A Spiritual Community in Caboolture, Queensland
Many Paths, One Vision
A place of welcome, spiritual growth, and shared purpose, open to people of all faiths and none.
Five Decades of Community Life in Caboolture
One property. Five interconnected places to explore.

The Abbey Church
Sunday Holy Communion, evening meditation services, and sacramental care for weddings, baptisms, and funerals. The Church has been the centre of the Community’s spiritual worship since 1967.

Multi-Faith Centre
Inspired by the belief that within all faiths are universal truths, the Centre facilitates interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural understanding across the Moreton Bay region. All are welcome.

St Michael’s College
An independent co-educational P-6 school and Early Learning Centre rooted in the ethos and values of the Abbey Community. Operating on the property since 1983.

Abbey Museum
The Abbey Community brought collections from England and established a museum in 1986, now home to the Abbey Medieval Festival, Australia’s largest medieval re-enactment.

Abbey Farm
A working dairy farm, orchard, and organic garden that has sustained the Community for 60 years. One third of the property is preserved as natural bushland.

Retreats
Set among gardens, areas of natural bush, and a working dairy farm, the Abbey offers a genuinely different retreat experience 45 minutes north of Brisbane.
A Spiritual Community Open to All
The Abbey Community is dedicated to being a centre for the wellbeing and spiritual enrichment of all peoples. We are devoted to personal spiritual growth and to sharing the values of love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, and acceptance. While grounded primarily in the Christian tradition, the Community recognises that there are many paths to God and that each person’s spiritual journey is unique.
Over its years in Queensland the Abbey Community has established the Abbey Church and Multi-Faith and Cultural Dialogue Centre, St Michael’s College and Early Learning Centre, the Abbey Museum and Art Gallery, and the Abbey Farm. Each of these entities remains intrinsically linked to the vision, values, and work of the Community. They provide avenues for cultural, historical, and educational enrichment, lifelong learning, inclusive education, spiritual inspiration, and a continuing commitment to the land.

Our Purpose
A lighthouse for our time
For 60 years The Abbey Community has offered a light of welcome, hope, and transformation. A place where people can belong, grow, and live with purpose. We are dedicated to continuing that journey, working for peace, and inviting you to be part of our story.

Retreat Centre Near Brisbane, Caboolture
In our ever-changing world there is a great need for each of us to take time to step aside, be still, be silent and to seek to know ourselves more deeply.
At the Abbey Community we have created a place that gives people permission to stop: to breathe deeply, think clearly, reconnect with themselves, and experience genuine inner exploration and restoration. Set in the beautiful Abbey grounds with its gardens, areas of natural bush, and dairy farm, we offer an opportunity to retreat from the world and rediscover your authentic self.
We host single day and weekend retreats, individual self-managed retreats, and welcome facilitator-led groups to book our venue for spiritual or wellbeing programs.
